  • Feb. 21, 2012: Providing Excellent Customer Service

    Learn from Dr. Nathan Mellor why stellar customer service should be a goal and how to create and maintain a culture of service. This highly interactive one-day program provides a practical understanding of the basics of customer service. As a result, participants will enhance their ability to provide quality customer care on a consistent basis.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Define customer service and identify the value of providing consistent customer service.
    • Review common practices of customer oriented organizations.
    • Learn how to “see” your organization through the eyes of a client or vendor.
    • Review tactics for providing “better than expected” service on the telephone, online and in-person.

    Special Guest: Pete Winemiller

    The Feb 21 seminar also features guest trainer Pete Winemiller who piloted the Oklahoma City Thunder guest relations team to a Stevie Award for customer service in 2010.

    Character First Training

    The Character First Orientation Training is a hands-on, practical session on how to implement Character First in your organization.

    It is a must for new members to get the full value of Character First, and it’s a great refresher for existing members!

    Topics Include:

    » What is character, and why is it important?
    » How to emphasize character in the workplace
    » How to recognize employees for excellence
    » How to handle misconduct or poor character

    (This training is designed for mid-level managers and higher. It is recommended for 6 continuing education credits.)

    What Is the Summer Institute?

    The Summer Institute is an informative, inventive, and interactive training session for Juniors and Seniors who attend one of the 22 Oklahoma Teacher Education Colleges. Each college gets to send 2 representatives to this special event.

    The 2012 Summer Institute will be July 19-21 in Oklahoma City! 

    Summer Institute 2011 PhotoSummer Institute Objectives:

    1. To provide Character First tools and resources for future use as a character educator.
    2. To create a character-based PK–12 learning environment by integrating character concepts into the core curriculum and elective studies.
    3. To communicate the value of praise as a tool to reinforce positive behavior.
    4. To develop skills for conflict resolution and classroom management.
    5. To acquire an understanding of and the ability to bridge cultural differences.
    6. To connect character traits with the required professional disposition.
    7. To cultivate long-term professional relationships.
