Please read the following information before requesting permission to reprint or use excerpts of Character First! information.
Character Training Institute Policies for Copyright and Special Permissions

All materials published by the Character Training Institute are protected under US Copyright Law. These
include, but are not limited to: print, video, audio, and website content, including text and images. Please
do not reproduce (in print or on websites) without express permission from the Character Training Institute.
We appreciate your truthfulness and respect for the law.
General Guidelines:
Generally speaking, the Character Training Institute will only grant special copyright permission to individuals or organizations that have received Character First! training and use Character First! materials on a regular basis.If you have not received training or do not use Character First! materials, please visit our downloads page to access resources available to the public.
Common Requests:
Generally speaking, the Character Training Institute will grant permission to participating organizations for requests such as:
- Printing the 49 character qualities and definitions in company policy manuals.
- Printing the monthly character quality, definition, and key concepts in company newsletters or websites.
- Reprinting Character First! newsletter articles or stories in company newsletters.
- Linking to the Character First! website using a Character First! logo.
- Creating customized posters, banners, and PowerPoint presentations to highlight a character quality in your organization.
Common Requirements:
Generally speaking, the following conditions will apply when permission is granted to reproduce Character First! materials:- Permission is granted for educational use only. Materials are not for resell. (Selling materials with Character First! information may result in royalty payments.)
- Permission is granted to use materials as they exist. Do not alter definitions or stories without express written permission.
- Proper credit should be given, such as: "Character First! information used by permission. www.characterfirst.com"
- When applicable, samples of the work should be sent to the CTI Publications Department for final approval prior to publishing.
- Permission may be withdrawn at anytime.
